大阪での写真展の開催が決定しました！
個人的には前回より展示数も増やし
より楽しんで頂けるような空間にしたいと思っています。

Cat Scratch Photo Exhibition in Osaka: Oct 30 – Nov 3

It’s official! Our group, "Cat Scratch," is hosting another photo exhibition in Osaka.

Building on last year’s experience,
I’m bringing a larger collection of my work to the gallery this time. 

I’ve put a lot of thought into the display to make it a space you’ll love.

If you’re in Osaka, please stop by!

街を見下ろす猫 / Giant Cat Overlooking the City

When I visited Shinjuku, Tokyo for the first time in a while,

I found a giant cat watching over the city.

友人の個展を見に新宿に行ってきた。
しかも日帰りで。

2020年まで暮らしていた勝手知ったる東京...
観光客という意識は無かったけど
僕の知ってる新宿はそこには無く
完全に観光客化してたなぁ。

6年も経つからそりゃそうだよね。


新宿の猫を撮り続けて来た友人の展示は本当に素晴らしくて
たくさんの刺激を受けて帰ってきました。


でもね

日帰りでは時間が足りない街です東京は。

In a certain tourist town, I felt like the cat's presence brought warmth to the place.

君が居るだけで、
この街の空気感そのものが変わる

そう感じるのは僕だけじゃないよね

この度の熊本県を震源とする地震により、
犠牲となられた方々に謹んでお悔やみを申し上げますとともに、
被災された皆様に心よりお見舞い申し上げます。

酷暑の折、避難されている皆様の健康と安全、

Through a Tourist's Eyes / RICOH GRIII

When pointing a camera while traveling, what are we truly looking for?

Nighttime in Beppu, with a gentle breeze cooling my body warm from the hot spring.
Stopping in a back alley of the lively downtown area,
I captured a moment where various "perspectives" intersected.

Sightseeing popular places is great,
but it’s these quiet moments in back alleys—where your perspective meets another’s—that truly stand out.

This is why I’ll never tire of street photography on my trips.

「重なる視点」

旅先でカメラを構えるとき、
人は何を覗き込んでいるのだろう。

仲間と飲んだ後の夜風が心地いい夜の別府。

 賑やかな歓楽街の路地裏でふと足を止めたとき、
そこにはいくつもの「視線」が交差する不思議な瞬間があった。

有名な観光地を巡るのも楽しいけれど、
ふと立ち止まった路地裏で
誰かの「視点」と自分の「視点」が重なる。

温泉帰りの海外の方が
このシーンを記録していた。

僕には興味深く何故か嬉しい出来事だった。

A Tiny Space to Call Home / RICOH GRIII

A park just a few steps away from the bustling main street of a tourist spot.
A single cardboard box sitting alone amidst the overgrown greenery.
That was his special, reserved seat.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, he quietly lives in a world of his own.
A tiny sanctuary found on my journey.

「ちいさな居場所」

賑やかな観光地のメイン通りから、
ほんの少し外れた公園。

ぽつんと置かれたひとつの段ボール箱。

そこが、彼の特等席だった。

観光客の喧騒をよそに
彼は静かに自分の世界を生きている。

旅先で見つけた、ちいさな居場所。

The Day I Found the Master of Rain Shelter / RICOH GRIII

Rainy days aren't so bad when you encounter something like this.
A rusty wall, falling rain, and a little master of survival.

He found the ultimate VIP seat where not a single drop of rain could touch him.

 That confident look on his face totally made my day.

いつものウォーキングコース。

雨が降る日は足早に通りを過ぎてしまいがち。
でも、そんな日にこそ静かな出会いがある。

傘に当たる強い雨の音を感じながら歩いていると
換気口の雨よけを自分だけのシェルターにして

雨をしのぐサバイバルの達人がいた。

憂鬱だった雨の日の散歩が、

このたくましくも愛らしい「達人」のおかげで

特別な一日に変わった。

指さす先に何があるのか気になった
夜の路地裏での宝探し。

今回の写真も
「Cat Scratch Japan 集会 in 別府」での一コマ。
メンバーと飲んだ後の夜も深まる時間だけど

さすが週末の観光地ということもあって
路地裏も賑やかだったな。

第2回「Cat Scratch写真展」 in 大阪
に向けての集会だったけど
展示に向けての話し合いってしたかなぁ？
飲みすぎたせいもあって覚えてない（笑）

でもね、

メンバーと会って

お酒飲んで
くだらない話をして

街を散策して

それが楽しいのが

自分には最高なんだよね。
