今年も前回と同じく

大阪で写真展の開催を開催させて頂きます。
個人的には前回より展示数も増やし
より楽しんで頂けるような空間にしたいと思っています。

僕の展示テーマは

「街の交差」

喧騒とコンクリートの真ん中で、繋がりの瞬間は静かに生まれる。

一瞬の視線、不意の笑顔、小さなぬくもり。

街を歩けば見えてくるー街は優しさで溢れている。

街に暮らす猫たちを撮り始めて20年。

記憶に残っているシーンの中から選んでみました。

是非ギャラリーで見て頂きたいです。

会期中は全日在廊していますので

気軽に声をかけて頂けたら嬉しいです。

僕の展示テーマは

「街の交差」

喧騒とコンクリートの真ん中で、繋がりの瞬間は静かに生まれる。

一瞬の視線、不意の笑顔、小さなぬくもり。

街を歩けば見えてくるー街は優しさで溢れている。

街に暮らす猫たちを撮り始めて20年。

記憶に残っているシーンの中から選んでみました。

Group Exhibition in Osaka (October 30th – November 3rd)

A group exhibition in Osaka will be taking place from October 30th to November 3rd.

My theme for this show is "Urban Intersections."

Amidst the bustle and concrete, moments of connection quietly emerge.

A fleeting glance, an unexpected smile, a small touch of warmth.

Walk through the city and you'll begin to see—the streets are overflowing with kindness.

It’s been 20 years since I first started photographing the cats living in the city.
From all those years, I’ve selected a collection of scenes that have truly stayed in my heart.

I would love for you to see these photographs in person at the gallery.

街を見下ろす猫 / Giant Cat Overlooking the City

When I visited Shinjuku, Tokyo for the first time in a while,

I found a giant cat watching over the city.

友人の個展を見に新宿に行ってきた。
しかも日帰りで。

2020年まで暮らしていた勝手知ったる東京...
観光客という意識は無かったけど
僕の知ってる新宿はそこには無く
完全に観光客化してたなぁ。

6年も経つからそりゃそうだよね。


新宿の猫を撮り続けて来た友人の展示は本当に素晴らしくて
たくさんの刺激を受けて帰ってきました。


でもね

日帰りでは時間が足りない街です東京は。

Through a Tourist's Eyes / RICOH GRIII

When pointing a camera while traveling, what are we truly looking for?

Nighttime in Beppu, with a gentle breeze cooling my body warm from the hot spring.
Stopping in a back alley of the lively downtown area,
I captured a moment where various "perspectives" intersected.

Sightseeing popular places is great,
but it’s these quiet moments in back alleys—where your perspective meets another’s—that truly stand out.

This is why I’ll never tire of street photography on my trips.

「重なる視点」

旅先でカメラを構えるとき、
人は何を覗き込んでいるのだろう。

仲間と飲んだ後の夜風が心地いい夜の別府。

 賑やかな歓楽街の路地裏でふと足を止めたとき、
そこにはいくつもの「視線」が交差する不思議な瞬間があった。

有名な観光地を巡るのも楽しいけれど、
ふと立ち止まった路地裏で
誰かの「視点」と自分の「視点」が重なる。

温泉帰りの海外の方が
このシーンを記録していた。

僕には興味深く何故か嬉しい出来事だった。

A Tiny Space to Call Home / RICOH GRIII

A park just a few steps away from the bustling main street of a tourist spot.
A single cardboard box sitting alone amidst the overgrown greenery.
That was his special, reserved seat.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, he quietly lives in a world of his own.
A tiny sanctuary found on my journey.

ほんの少し外れた公園。

ぽつんと置かれたひとつの段ボール箱。

そこが、彼の特等席だった。

観光客の喧騒をよそに
彼は静かに自分の世界を生きている。

旅先で見つけた、ちいさな居場所。

A rusty wall, falling rain, and a little master of survival.

He found the ultimate VIP seat where not a single drop of rain could touch him.

 That confident look on his face totally made my day.

いつものウォーキングコース。

雨が降る日は足早に通りを過ぎてしまいがち。
でも、そんな日にこそ静かな出会いがある。

傘に当たる強い雨の音を感じながら歩いていると
換気口の雨よけを自分だけのシェルターにして

雨をしのぐサバイバルの達人がいた。

憂鬱だった雨の日の散歩が、

このたくましくも愛らしい「達人」のおかげで

特別な一日に変わった。

メンバーと飲んだ後の夜も深まる時間だけど

さすが週末の観光地ということもあって
路地裏も賑やかだったな。

第2回「Cat Scratch写真展」 in 大阪
に向けての集会だったけど
展示に向けての話し合いってしたかなぁ？
飲みすぎたせいもあって覚えてない（笑）

でもね、

メンバーと会って

お酒飲んで
くだらない話をして

街を散策して

それが楽しいのが

自分には最高なんだよね。

At a "Shime" Ramen Shop./ RICOH GRIII

After enjoying drinks with friends,
we have a tradition in Japan of heading to a ramen shop for "Shime" — the ultimate finale to a perfect night.

I stepped into this retro ramen shop and felt like I had traveled back in time.
While waiting for my noodles, I noticed an adorable little counter assistant enjoying their own "Shime" meal behind the bamboo screen!

A warm bowl of ramen, a nostalgic atmosphere, and a surprise encounter with a cat. This is why I love exploring Japan's nighttime culture.

参加しているグループCat Scratchの集会で大分へ。
食べて、飲んで、撮影して。
本当にこの街での撮影は楽しい。
それは
メンバーの澁谷くんが

この街と人とのコミュニケーションが

普段から丁寧なことが大きいです。
彼がいてくれることで余所者の僕らも受け入れてもらえる。

河井くんは「移住しようかな」なんて言ってたし（笑）

飲んだ後の締めのラーメン

めちゃくちゃ美味かったなぁ。

The Heartbeat of the Backstreets

I’ve always been drawn to the "hidden side" of the city.

Whenever I walk around with my camera,

 I find myself slipping away from the crowded main streets and drifting into the quiet, narrow alleys. 

While most people are attracted to the bright neon lights, 

I’m looking for the city’s true face—the one that exists in the shadows.

There’s something incredibly peaceful about these mundane, everyday scenes. 

To most, it’s just a shortcut; but to me, this is where the city truly breathes. 

A stray cat watching the world go by, a blurred figure disappearing into the night, the warm, amber glow from a tiny Izakaya... 

these small details tell a much deeper story than any famous landmark ever could.

It’s these unpolished, authentic moments that make me fall in love with urban photography over and over again.

街も人も裏側の方に興味がある。

そして裏を知ることで

もっと好きになれるんだよなぁ。

裏って悪い意味じゃなくて
社交辞令じゃない本音に触れた時。

お互いに本音を曝け出すというのは
それだけ信頼し心を許している証だと思うから。

自分を曝け出せる
家族、仲間、友人がいてくれることが

人生を豊かにしてくれている。

The Tiny Protagonist

Me, a traveler.

The rhythm of an ordinary street.

But the star of the show was you, little one.

旅行者の僕。

街が刻む日常のリズム。

主役は小さな君だった。

猫たちが幸せに暮らしている
それだけで

その街を好きになるのは

猫好きあるあるなのかもなぁ。

僕が上京した2008年
東京にもこういう街がたくさんあった。

それでも北九州に帰ってきた2020年には
街で猫たちの姿をほぼ見ることは無かったな。

近くて遠いこの街で

猫たち、街の人たちと
交流しながらの撮影は本当に楽しい。
安く泊まれるホテルがあるなら毎週行きたいくらい（笑）
